Who IMI Defense is and why we carry it

IMI Defense is an Israeli maker of polymer accessories for pistols and long guns – not to be confused with the state arms concern Israel Military Industries, with which it shares only the name. We have represented the brand since 2006 and the relationship is closer than usual: the official logotype, the yellow circle with the IMI Defense lettering, was designed here. We have handled every generation of their holsters and magazines and know where they are strong.

What we stock

• Polymer pistol holsters with retention – the largest group. An active lock holds the pistol and is released by the thumb on the draw; the classic Israeli concept for duty belt carry. Models for Glock, CZ 75 / 75 Compact / Omega, Shadow 2 and P-09, Sig Sauer, Beretta, Walther, H&K and the Makarov PM, mostly in black, tan and green.
• Holsters without retention – simpler, ambidextrous, for concealed carry and subcompacts such as the Sig P365, including one-piece versions for pistols with their factory light (Sig P290, P250 Subcompact). Friction only.
• Magazine pouches – single and the double MP series, universal for most double-stack 9 mm / .40 magazines or specific to the large-frame Glock 20/21/30/36. Adapters move the same pouch between belt clip, MOLLE and other attachments.
• KIDON conversions – a universal polymer pistol-to-carbine conversion with telescopic or folding stock (KIDON, KIDON-FS, KIDON-FS2). One chassis takes Glock including 43X/48, CZ 75 / Shadow 2 / P-09 / P-10, Sig P250 and P365-XMACRO, H&K USP, Canik TP9, Beretta APX, Grand Power, Tanfoglio or IWI Masada through an interchangeable KDN adapter.
• Magazines and accessories – polymer AK-74 G2 magazines in 5.45x39, rubberised floorplates for Glock and metal magazines, the +2 extension for the Glock 43, front grips and M-LOK light mounts, a folding threaded AR-15-style buffer tube, the aluminium Dual Optic Mount and a multi-tool for AR-15 and 1911.

Who it is for

Retention holsters are for duty and armed carry, for training courses and anywhere the pistol must stay put in a fall or a struggle. Holsters without retention and the MP pouches suit sport shooters and concealed carry. KIDON turns a pistol into a steadier platform at 25–50 m without modifying the gun and without a gunsmith. Platforms covered: Sig Sauer, Glock, CZ, H&K, Beretta and Walther on the pistol side; AR-15, AK 47/74 and SA vz.58 on the rifle side.

What to watch for

Buy the holster for the exact model and generation – a Glock 17 Gen 3 and Gen 5 are not the same, and with CZ the Shadow 2 differs from the P-09 and the classic 75. With retention holsters plan on practising the draw, otherwise the lock slows you down. With KIDON everything depends on the right KDN adapter; a pistol with a mounted red dot or a threaded barrel may not fit, so ask first. Holster attachment is modular – clip, paddle and other hangers are separate parts.
