Mec-Gar – the company that makes the originals

Italian Mec-Gar of Gussago near Brescia has built magazines since 1965 and supplies the factory magazines for a number of major pistol makers, among them Beretta, SIG Sauer, CZ and Walther. A magazine with the Mec-Gar logo is often the same piece you would find in the box with the gun, just without someone else's stamp. We carry a small selection for the guns you ask us about.

What we carry

  • Colt 1911 and clones – .45 ACP 8-round with polymer base pad (blued) and 10 mm Auto 8-round (nickel).
  • SIG Sauer P226 – 9 mm 20-round and .40 S&W 13-round, steel body with the AFC anti-friction coating.

The 20-round P226 magazine extends below the frame and is meant for training and sport, not for a concealment holster. On the 1911 check the calibre; .45 and 10 mm magazines are not interchangeable.
