Peltor

Peltor – the Swedish classic, now part of 3M

Peltor was founded in Värnamo, Sweden, in 1950 and has belonged to 3M since 2008, with development and production still in Sweden. We carry it because it spans the whole range of hearing protection – passive earmuffs, electronic shooting headsets and communication headsets – and because spares remain available years later.

What we stock

• Optime II and Optime III – passive earmuffs. Optime II attenuates 31 dB and is the lighter one; Optime III is the heavier set for the loudest environments. No batteries, the simplest option for range or workshop.
• SportTac – folding electronic headset with 26 dB attenuation and level-dependent hearing: the shot is cut, speech comes through. Interchangeable shells, hence our red/black, green/orange, green/orange camo and pink/green combinations. Our pick for hunters and sport shooters.
• ComTac XPI Standard – folding communication headset for radio connection, in green. Alongside it the helmet adapter and the FL6N 3.5 mm stereo cable.
• HY80S hygiene kit – gel ear cushions for Hunter, Shooter, SportTac, ProTac III, the X series and LiteCom. Cushions are a consumable; change them after each season.

Peltor or Sordin?

We sell both. Peltor is the choice when you want one brand from passive muffs to a radio headset, or when price decides – SportTac is the cheapest electronic protection we recommend without hesitation. Sordin is the narrower specialist for rough conditions; people who shoot often and in the rain end up there.
