Trijicon RMR Type 2 Red Dot Sight – 3.25 MOA Red Dot with mount RM34
Who Trijicon is and why we carry it
Trijicon of Wixom, Michigan has built sights on tritium and fibre optics since the 1980s, and its RMR became the industry-standard footprint for pistol red dots. We carry it as the reference class: whoever wants what most Western armed services use ends up with an RMR.
What we stock
- RMR Type 2 – the classic with a 3.25 MOA dot, bottom-loaded battery (changing it means removing the optic), extremely tough. Also with the RM34 Picatinny mount.
- RMR HD – the new generation: larger window, top-loading battery, a sensor reading the target rather than the surroundings, 3.25 or 1 MOA dot. Same footprint.
- SRO – large round window for competition, 2.5 MOA; faster dot pickup, less rugged.
- RCR – enclosed emitter on the RMR footprint, 3.25 MOA, no change to the slide cut.
- MRO – 2 MOA rifle tube sight with lower 1/3 co-witness mount.
Who it is for
Duty and defensive pistols with an MOS or RMR cut: Glock 17/34/35 Gen 4 and Gen 5 MOS, Glock 48, Sig Sauer, CZ, Canik, Shadow Systems. SRO for competitors, RCR for anyone who carries daily and does not want to clean an emitter, MRO for AR-15s and similar carbines.
What to watch for
Many makers adopted the RMR footprint, but not the other way round – an RMR will not sit on an RMSc cut. On the Type 2 change the battery on a fixed schedule, since you cannot check it by looking.
