The Meprolight TRU-DOT® Night Sight System is designed for Springfield XDM & XDS pistols, offering improved visibility in low-light and nighttime conditions. The system features high-quality tritium inserts that provide a glowing sight picture for fast target acquisition, even in dark environments.

These sights are manufactured with durability in mind, ensuring long-lasting performance and reliability under various conditions. The set includes both front and rear sights, both designed for easy installation with proper tools.

Installation Instructions

Important Notes:

• These sights contain small glass ampules with tritium (radioactive material). Handle carefully to avoid damage.
• Only use a sight pusher designed to apply pressure to the sight base or dovetail, not the tritium inserts. Improper installation tools can void the warranty.
• Make sure the weapon is unloaded before starting the installation process.

Front Sight Installation:

1. Ensure the front sight fits into the dovetail recess. If necessary, file the sight's dovetail to fit.
2. Clean all contact surfaces (sight and dovetail) using a solvent (e.g., acetone) to remove any gun oil residue.
3. Coat contacting surfaces with a thin layer of LOCTITE® 609 glue (or equivalent).
4. Fit the sight into the dovetail recess, ensuring the tritium light faces the shooter.
5. Use a sight pusher to adjust the sight position (left or right) before the glue sets. Allow a minimum of 8 hours for the glue to cure.

Rear Sight Installation:

1. Ensure the rear sight fits into the dovetail recess. If necessary, file the sight's dovetail to fit.
2. Clean contacting surfaces using a suitable solvent.
3. Coat contacting surfaces with LOCTITE® 609 glue (or equivalent).
4. Fit the rear sight into the dovetail recess, ensuring the tritium inserts face the shooter.
5. Use a sight pusher for final adjustments, ensuring the glue has not cured before adjusting. Allow 8 hours for full curing.

Front and Rear Sight Removal:

• Use a sight pusher to remove both the front and rear sights from the dovetail recess, ensuring no damage occurs.
• Avoid using a drift punch for removal, especially if the sights are under warranty, as this may void the warranty.
